Becoming Species is an artivistic performance collective who places focus on the survival of more-than-human species, the biodiversity crisis and connected climate breakdown through a mix of artistic and activist practice.
We are not just in rebellion against - we are also in rebellion for. For a new cosmovision and an understanding of the deep interconnectednes between humans and nature. We wish to break with human-nature dualism by using creative activism. Nature is inherently part of us and is the foundation of all life. When we become one with nature, we experience its force and vulnerability and many nuances.
We enter public spaces and blur the division between society and nature. In our current society other species than the almighty human are not considered Life. We disagree. We want to explore how it is to be other Life. We want to give other species a voice.
